Historical Fiction Book Club

All readers are welcome to join us as we read and discuss Historical Fiction books. Copies of the books can be picked up at the library. Discussions will be on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. This month we will be discussing The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street by Susan Jane Gilman.

Summary: Russian immigrant Malka arrives in 1913 Manhattan, where she struggles to survive and learns trade secrets from an Italian ices peddler before setting off across America in an ice cream truck with a handsome, illiterate radical to seek their fortunes.
