Program Description

Event Details

Welcome to the Human Library. Unjudge Someone.

The Human Library is like the library you know and love, instead here, the "Books," are all human volunteers who have opted to speak about their experiences openly to "Readers," who are interested in learning about diverse experiences

The Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that challenge stereotypes, prejudices, and stigma through dialogue. Difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered.

We’re seeking volunteers to serve as Human Books by sharing their stories with members of the local community in an effort to promote tolerance, celebrate differences, and encourage understanding between people who come from varied backgrounds.

If you are interested in volunteering as a Book please reach out to Jenn McCarty at jennifer.mccarty@monroe.lib.mi.us and she will get you in touch with the organizers.

Thanks!
