Program Description

Event Details

Late summer is the perfect time to divide and transplant perennials! Dividing the root systems after the bloom cycle and well before the dormant period gives transplants enough time to establish roots before the winter, which makes them more likely to produce flowers the very next spring.

So bring some containers and your divided perennials to the Bedford Library on Saturday, September 13th, and swap them for new varieties! Participants are asked to please label your plants with variety and color before the swap. Limited labeling supplies and extra containers will be available the day of the swap.

Interested in giving away, but not taking on new plants? Donations are always welcomed and appreciated!

Interested in picking up some new plants FOR FREE, but you don't have any to share? That's fine too! All are welcome. The library will be giving away milkweed, Brown-Eyed Susans, and more!

The Perennial Plant Share will take place in the South Parking Lot next to the greenhouse, unless inclement weather moves us indoors to the Community Room.
