Fun Friday for Babies is a great opportunity for babies and their parents or caregivers to get an introduction to library programming!  We'll incorporate music, toys and books to help babies work on early language and literacy skills.

 Then we will pick up the pace with a dance party. This portion of the program uses guided dance music and fun actions that the children will enjoy.  

You're invited!   Featuring book talks on the best new books.

Storytime at the Maybee Branch Library is a fun and active event for preschoolers and toddlers (and their grown-ups too). Join us each week for reading, music, playing and hands-on activities.

This Play Group is for Children from Birth to School Age with parents or caregivers accompanying. We will be spending time for everyone to interact through playing, sharing, climbing, caring and story reading! Come join the fun!!

Fun Friday is a special Storytime experience for toddlers and preschoolers!  Each week, we'll read a book and do fun extension activities based on the book.  Each month will have a different focus:

Sing, dance, read, and play! Toddler Storytimes are lively programs designed for ages 18 months and over.

This is a special storytime tailored to the whole family! Each month we learn about an author and take a look at their books, with some follow-up activities.  And don't forget the music!

Preschool storytimes are intended for children 3-5 years old and increase the crucial language skills that help children get ready for school.  They also promote listening skills and prepare them for social situations.  Fun and engaging

Get your body movin', shake out your sillies and get loose at this dance program. We will be moving and grooving to fun songs. Bring your party fingers and get this dance party started!

​Literacy on the Lawn will be held on the library lawn for those 3-5 years old but will start inside the library in the children's area.

Enjoy a mix of art and play at our weekly "Preschool Art Adventures" program.  

Be sure to wear some clothes that you don't mind getting messy.

This program will take place twice a month (1st & 3rd Saturday) and is specifically geared towards 4 & 5 year old kids who are just starting their reading adventure.

Calling all cooks and readers. Join us at our Carleton Savvy Cook Bookers book club. Each month a new chef/theme will be selected and cookbooks will be available for check out.

This book club is for children who will enter Kindergarten in the Fall 2024.

MCLS partners with Sudexo to provide snacks for teens and children.

Students from Summerfield High School's National Honor Society will be available at the library to help students of all ages with homework.  No sign-up is needed, just come to the branch for some help!

Introducing the rebirth of the Bedford Chess Club. We will have a variety of sets available, and a recommended weekly opening for players to practice and experiment with.

Do you love Legos? Join our Lego Club every Thursday after school from 4:00-5:00 PM.

Each week we will challenge you with a new theme and then display your creation for one week in the library.

D & D is a fantasy roleplaying game that is like a combination of a board game and storytelling. Dungeon Masters lead their group through experiences in worlds of heroic fantasy.

The Maybee Branch Book Club meets the last Monday of the month at 7pm.  New members are always welcome, stop in and get your copy of this months selection.
