Story, costumes, sound effects, ACTION! Join us for a fun intro to acting and dramatic play. We’ll read a story, pick out parts, grab a costume from the dress-up chest and read the story again. But this time, we’ll act it out!

Come enjoy some delightful stories, upbeat music and dances to keep your preschooler grooving.  We’ll wrap up with a craft or playtime to extend learning through play.

Library staff will select and deliver books, movies, music CDs, audiobooks, and magazines.  ​Deliveries take place every four weeks.

Get out and stretch your way to feeling better mentally and physically. Chair yoga is a low impact way to fitness and everyone can participate regardless of physical or health limitations! Jessica Bannon will be your instructor.

November is DINOVEMBER! Dinosaurs have taken over the children’s area. They have come out to play, make messes and have a good time. Come to the Dorsch Memorial Branch and enjoy a variety of activities exploring dinosaurs.

This program will take place on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of every month and is specifically geared towards 4 -6 year old kids who are just starting their reading adventure.

The Newport Branch Library Book Club will meet the second Wednesday of the month at 2:00 pm. All meetings are open to all readers. This month's book is, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

Historical Fiction Book Club Titles for 2024

Young historians, families, kids, and writers are invited to meet Laura A. Stewart, the author of, "Building the Bridge School: A Story about Michigan’s First Public School.

Teams compete to see who can finish a puzzle first. Every team is given the same  500 piece puzzle. Each team can be up to four people. Only register the team captain and then put the names of team members in the notes.

Kindergarten Book club meets the 2nd Sunday of each month. In addition to reading books, the Kindergarten book club include numerous other fun activities.  The majority of which are related to literature in one way or another.

High school students are available after school to assist students who may need help with their homework.  No registration needed. 

Tweens and teens are invited to the library to participate in a Silent Library challenge!  Can you keep quiet in the library?  What about while completing various food and action challenges from around the world?

Wednesdays are all about sharpening minds and having fun! From 3:30 - 4:00, we’ll help with homework, dinner is served at 4:00 followed by a session of card and board games that challenge and entertain!
